How to start

Transferring money has never been easier, follow the simple registration steps below and start sending money online from home, office or on the go.

1. Download the App from PLAYSTORE / APPLE STORE  or register through web portal
2. Verify your mobile number upon receiving the OTP.
3. Verify your registered email by clicking the link received from Western Union.
4. Take a photo of your Oman National ID (both sides).
5. Take a clear selfie picture holding your Oman National ID.
6. Send both National ID photos (front & back) and the selfie picture (holding the National ID card) from your registered email address to :

within 72 hours.


Please note newly enrolled customers can perform a maximum of three transactions aggregating up to a total value of RO 3,000 per month during this closure period.


Once the branches are reopened for business, the customers enrolled digitally during the closure period, shall visit the branch and complete face-to-face KYC before undertaking any further transaction.


Step by Step Process


1.  Login to your online profile.

2.    Choose the destination country, transfer amount and delivery method (cast at WU agent location or to Bank account).

3.    Select the payment option as Bank Transfer. You will see a list of Banks in which Global Money Exchange has accounts (Choose the bank which you will need to transfer funds digitally to Global Money Exchange Customer Deposit Account and transfer the required amount to the respective Bank account.)














4.    Enter your receiver’s name, the purpose of your transaction and the source of your funds.

5.    Confirm your transaction details.

6.    Note down the account details of the bank.

7.    Note down the Money Transfer Control Number which can be found on the confirmation receipt.

8.    Once you have completed this process, you will need to do an electronic transfer of the full amount of the transfer including the transfer fees from your bank account to Global Money Exchange’s account. Please do not forget to mention the transaction reference number (OM0XXXXX) in the remarks column before you complete the fund's transfer from your account.


Please note that your transaction will not be completed unless you initiate the electronic transfer to the correct Global Money Exchange account with the full amount of the transfer plus fees and the correct transaction reference number. Transactions will be cancelled if we do not receive the funds within 3 days.


As per the directives of Supreme Committee, all the Exchange Companies in Oman have been instructed to temporarily close their branches for the Public since March 23rd 2020 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.  In order to give further impetus to the digital remittance services, Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has permitted us provide back office support with minimal staff. In this connection, the WU.Com transactions will be released only if the payment is received between 9:00 AM & 3:30 PM during bank working days;any transfers which are done thereafter will be only released on the next working day.


For knowing the status of WU.Com transactions, amendment and/or cancellation request, please write to us at from your registered email ID along with the following details:

a) Funds may be delayed or services unavailable based on certain transaction conditions, including amount sent, destination country, currency availability, regulatory issues, identification requirements, differences in time zones, agent location hours, time of payment, or selection of delayed options. b) If any transaction gets rejected due to compliance issues or if the beneficiary is unable to receive funds due to lockdown in destination country, funds will be refunded back to the Sender’s bank account only after the commencement of business activities for Exchange Companies in Oman.
